Ballarat Central Uniting Church

Our firm has commenced a major clean and overhaul of the 1890 Fincham & Hobday organ in Ballarat Central Uniting Church. The church's third organ, it was installed in 1890, rebuilt in 1924 and 1954, and maintains much of its original tonal palette.

Christ Church Anglican, Echuca

Refurbishment of the 1873 Fincham / 1919 Taylor / 1982 Fincham & Sons organ in Christ Church Anglican Church in Echuca is underway. The refurbishment of the organ includes the addition of a new Cornopean and Mixture to the Swell.

St Joseph's Catholic Church, Chelsea

Final touches are going on to the newly refurbished 1906 Frederick Taylor organ, newly installed in St Joseph's Catholic Church, Chelsea. The organ was originally built for Kew Presbyterian Church in 1906, and then relocated to Brunswick Uniting Church in 1996. In its new home at St Joseph's, it now has several new stops, and a new solid state control system.

Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Carlton

Wakeley Pipe Organs has been awarded the contract for the refurbishment and relocation of the newly purchased 1928 Balbiani Bossi organ for Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Carlton. The refurbishment will retain its original scrolled tuning and include the installation of a new blower and solid state control system. Originally built for the Brigidine Convent Chapel in Randwick, NSW, it was relocated to the St Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Bowenfells in 1986. It's new home will be as the sanctuary organ in Sacred Heart Carlton and be used to accompany chant and small services.

St Carthage's Catholic Church, Parkville

The finishing touches are going on to the fully restored 1885 George Fincham organ, now installed in St Carthage's, Parkville. Formally in the Williamstown Congregational Church, the organ retains its hand blowing feeders and cone tuning. Mark Nobel has refurbished the oak grained casework and stencilled façade pipes. St Aloysius' Catholic Church, North Caulfield

Repairs to the historic 1880 J.W. Wolff organ have now been completed and the instrument installed in St Aloysius, North Caulfield. The organ was blessed on 12th December and will feature in the 2011 Catholic Organ Symposium 26th-30th Jan 2011, with recitals and extemporisations by organists Dom Alban Nunn and Justin McDonnell.

Work continues on the refurbishment of the 1906 Frederick Taylor organ for St Joseph's, Chelsea. Several new stops are being added and a new solid state control system is being installed. Originally built in 1906 for Kew Presbyterian Church, it was rebuilt in 1960 by Hill, Norman & Beard and relocated to Brunswick Uniting Church in 1996.
